If you want style, comfort, and timeless style, handmade leather is the way to go. Don’t neglect your style, and don’t neglect your comfort. It’s important to have insight, and it’s even more important to touch up your look with the best possible style. Machines can’t do everything, and handmade shoes bring quite a bit to the table. It’s time to go handmade, and for a few reasons:

One: Quality Over Quantity

Machine-made shoes are created for quantity. They’re pushed through assembly lines to hit margins, burn off expenses and make profits. Are they good? Sure. Are they perfect? Well, not necessarily.

Technology has come a long way, but a distinction still exists between quality-made and quantity-made shoes. Custom-made shoes don’t adhere to standard sizes. They’re not molded on the same assembly standards as machine-made shoes. For this reason, their material needs to be more durable. Machine-made shoes are durable, too, but a significant fraction of sustainability is lost to secure company numbers. In short: Handmade shoes are built to last. They receive more attention during creation.

Two: Reconditioning and Reparability

Handmade shoes are more repairable than machine-made shoes, too. A well-crafted shoe’s reparability should be one of your top criteria. Whether you’re working with vintage boots or Italian-wear, the ability to recondition your style is important.

Machine-made shoes, while technically repairable, lose structure when fixed. Essentially, they’re disposable. Handmade shoes might cost more than machine-made shoes, but their reparability greatly enhances their value.

Three: Unique Inspiration

Handmade shoes are an inventor’s investment. Inspiration plays a key role in a handmade leather shoe’s development, resulting in a unique touch on each and every product. The crafting process, whether taking place over days or weeks, requires consultation, idea drafting, sample generation and plenty of rest.

Handmade shoes are left to “sit,” to take shape. No pair is alike, ensuring the wearer’s totally unique style. Machine-made shoes, meanwhile, aren’t nearly as autonomous in look, feel or style.

Four: Breathability

Shoes undergoing multiple manufacturing stages breathe better. In fact, handmade shoe crafters specifically focus on breathability during the above-mentioned “sit” stage. Machine-made shoes are infused with commercial stiffeners to speed production. It serves a purpose, but it also detracts from the shoe’s overall comfort.

Handmade shoes, meanwhile, are created for feel. Much of their design process is contingent on flexibility and inner space. A quality shoe gives the wearer breathing room. It secures ongoing durability, style, and design while remaining enjoyable to wear.

Five: Adaptable Leather

As stated above, quality, rather than quantity, persists in handmade shoes. Regular formal shoes are created from synthetic leather, which wears out after years of use. Machine-crafted leather shoes tend to split, crack and lose color when not fitting the wearer’s foot properly. Handmade creations, however, tend to “morph” to the individual’s foot. It adds comfort, but it also increases the shoe’s adaptability. Premium quality Italian leather lasts for years. It looks strong, shines and as totally adaptable to different environments. Handmade leather soles, too, are the world’s finest shoe options.

If you’re setting the score with your style, and if you want to feel great, there’s no better option. Of course, your style is dependent on your personal look. On an empirical level, however, handmade shoes trump their machine-made counterparts every time.
